The formation of the concept was founded on the principles of creating space through volume manipulation. Guided by research of the contemporary museum practices, buildings that enable those practices as well as new tendencies and requirements of exhibiting contemporary art, the space created was meant to accommodate many different ways of showing artwork, while taking into account everything that contemporary art could be.
